Request Account Deletion

Updated July 2026

You can ask us to delete your Merfi account — or just specific data we've collected — at any time. Here's how, and what to expect.

1.How to delete your account

2.What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, we remove the personal information associated with it, including:

A few records are kept only where the law requires it — for example, billing records are retained for tax and legal compliance (we never store your payment card numbers). Anonymous, aggregated statistics that can no longer be linked to you or your child may be retained. Full details are in the Data Retention section of our Privacy Policy.

3.Delete your data only

If you'd like us to delete specific information we've collected — for example, your child's behavioral and session data — but keep your account open, you can request that instead. This is separate from deleting your entire account.

Under COPPA, you may request deletion of the information we've collected about your child. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), California residents also have the right to request deletion of their personal information. We'll acknowledge your request within 10 business days and complete it within 30 days, except for records we're legally required to keep. See California Privacy Rights for more.

4.For parents and guardians

Under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), you have the right to review or delete the information we have collected about your child, and to refuse any further collection. Deleting your account does all of this. You can also request review or deletion of your child's information without closing your account — just email us with the subject line "COPPA Request." See COPPA & Children's Privacy for more.
